The Point Of No Return

Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. (NKJV)
A recent bike ride took me into new territory, but not so new that I hadn't been over it before. I had driven in the car that way many times, but had never ridden my bike. As I rode along, taking note of the farmers' freshly plowed fields, I began to notice the incline in the road, something that I had not taken notice of before in the car. A few times, I found my thoughts focussing on turning around and going back the other way, as the hills were more than I thought I could manage. Just about the time that I had made the decision to turn, I felt in my spirit that I was at the point of no return and that I should pedal on further. No sooner had I felt this than I began to notice that I was, in fact, not going up as steeply as at first. Before long, I found myself going gently downhill on my way back home.
In our walk in life, we can come to places of no return, where we feel that going on is too much for us, and we consider turning back or staying put for a time. There is One who is always with us, and He will encourage our journey forward, or accompany us as we turn back, or be with us as we stay put. He will send others into our lives to speak into our situation on His behalf. We need never feel alone or forgotten once we have accepted Jesus Christ into our lives.
2 Timothy 2:10 - Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (NKJV)
Many, though, do not have this kind of assurance in their lives yet. It is through our overcoming and our reliance on Him that we can be a witness to the lost and give them hope and a point of return.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we pray for ways to transform the lost into the saved. Help us to share all that You have done for us, and show us ways to reach those who feel that they are at the point of no return. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Blessings
