Visionary

2 Corinthians 5:1 – For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (NKJV)

Acts 2:17 – And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. (NKJV)

Technology

Recently, I went to the local bike shop to see about handlebar tape for my bike. I have been using hockey tape on them, but over time, it seems to get sticky, so I decided to see what the bike shop sold. I didn't let on that I had been using hockey tape, but soon, I realized that it might be easier to use the hockey tape, as I stood looking at a nicely-laid-out peg board wall filled with many kinds of handlebar tape, some made of cork and some made of gel.

Posted Speed

I have been travelling the same way to work for the past four years, and I have been aware of the posted speed limit for this stretch of road. Today, on my way into work, I noticed a new sign that lowered the posted speed limit for a long stretch before it changed back to the speed that it had been posted at previously. I shared about the changed speed limit with the people at work so that they would be aware, as many of them travel this same stretch of road.

With Us

We recently put our travel trailer on a church site for the summer. It is only 45 minutes from home. We plan to have many weekends there, both as a couple and as a family. The irony of this is that the site that best fit our trailer is the exact same site that my husband's parents had for a number of years. In fact, the boys spent many a summer there growing up. As my husband and I took the trailer to the site, I said to him, "Wouldn't it be funny if the boys met girls there this summer?" Only the boys are not boys, but, in fact, young men.

The Penny

The cost to produce the penny is higher than the actual penny is worth. This is what the Canadian government concluded earlier this year when they decided that the penny would be phased out. They let us know that as of March 2013, the penny would no longer be distributed from the banks, and the mint stopped making them. As the day came closer, people began to ask what they would do with the pennies that they had been saving in jars. How would the stores handle a sale with the odd cents involved?
